
Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin & Petai
- This spicy fried rice is a quick and tasty way to use up leftover rice. With mixed vegetables, egg, and a kick of De’Tumis sambal, it’s a satisfying meal that’s ready in minutes and bursting with flavor.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups cooked rice (preferably overnight rice for best texture)
- 2–3 tablespoons De’Tumis Green Chilli Salted Fish & Petai Sambal
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 small onion (sliced)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (optional)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- Salt to taste
- Spring onions (for garnish)
- Fried egg or keropok (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a wok over medium heat.
- Add garlic and onion, stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add 2–3 tbsp De’Tumis Green Chilli Salted Fish & Petai Sambal. Stir-fry until aromatic.
- Push ingredients aside and crack in the egg.
- Scramble the egg and mix with the sambal.
- Add mixed vegetables and stir-fry briefly.
- Add cooked rice and break up clumps.
- Stir-fry on high heat until evenly coated.
- Add soy sauce and oyster sauce, mix well.
- Taste, adjust seasoning if needed, and serve hot.
